A new statue of a SLEEPING JOSEPH has been placed in the entrance hall in our convent. As the description of this statue says, God solved St. Joseph’s greatest dilemma …when he was engrossed in a deep sleep. DO NOT BE AFRAID …God said to Joseph in his dream. DO NOT BE AFRAID – God is saying The same to each of us. Let us pray through the intercession of St Joseph for the grace of faith and trust.

If you wish, you may send your request for prayer to us and our community will remember your intentions.

The Feast of Immaculate Conception.

We, the Sister of the Holy Family, Jesus the  Good Shepherd Province in Enfield invite you to join us in renewing your consecration to Our Lady by using the prayer below.

Prayer for entrusting

Jesus the Good Shepherd Province
to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Saint Michael, the Archangel

Every word of the Scriptures and every passing day reminds us that we are merely pilgrims on this earth, constantly on journey to our eternal, heavenly home.
It happens, however, that when the road become long and steep near the summit,
tiredness prevails and becomes our deceiving guide.

We are tempted, then, to put aside our pilgrim staff
and start looking for all kinds of protection and comfort,
as if we were people with no hope, tied only to an earthly dwelling.
Our hearts, previously on fire, become lukewarm
and sadness, the seed of hidden pride, overshadows life.

In such times God invites us to fix our gaze on those who, in battle, stood faithfully on the side of Truth, armored in humility.
“Who is like God” exclaims God’s Knight, Vanquisher of Satan, the Archangel, Saint Michael.
“Behold the handmaid of the Lord” whispers Mary of Nazareth,
the New Eva, her determined foot on the dragon’s head.

Immaculate Mary, Mother of our communities and Mother of each one of us,
Jesus the Good Shepherd Province flies to your special patronage today
and entrusts to your motherly care each member.
Hide us to your pure heart.
Help us to give ourselves completely to Jesus
On our “Nazareth journey”.

Immaculate Virgin, Queen of Angels, be with us, when our faith weakens and we are in danger of becoming prey to our own will.
Strengthen us with wisdom and steadfast desire to place ourselves anew,
and in every circumstance, behind St. Michael’s shield. May he, the Prince of heavenly hosts,
Guard our hearts and homes through the chosen fidelity
Of our religious life together.
May he protect us from the fear of self-sacrifice, and grant us joy of victory over our lesser selves.
To God’s greater glory!

In confident trust we pray, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.
